Qualifications:

  1. Hold valid New York State School teaching certificate or requisite hours per NY state guidelines preferred.ย 

  2. Flexibility to meet the needs of a range of student learners

  3. Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff

  4. Strong communication skills

  5. Strong organizational and planning skills
    ย

ย Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:

ย 
  • Ability to follow plans provided

  • Ability to plan lessons as needed

  • Knowledge of classroom management strategies

  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed

  • Ability to organize and coordinate work;

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parent(s) guardian(s)

  • Ability to engage culturally diverse students; and

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersย ย

Terms of Employment:

The position of Substitute Teacher can be per diem, short term, long term or ten-month position.ย ย

Salary:ย  Minimum starting salary as per the Victor Teachers' Association Contract
NYSED teacher certified - $130/day (1-30 days)
