Position Summary
The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gynecologic Oncologist interested in a career in academic medicine. This is a full-time, tenure track or variable track faculty position. The appointment rank and track will be commensurate with the chosen candidate's experience and qualifications. Responsibilities for this position include comprehensive care of patients (outpatient, inpatient and surgery), education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in the division's research mission. Patients include women with gynecologic cancers, cervical and vulvar dysplasia, and those with increased risk of developing gynecologic malignancies and benign complex gynecologic pathologies.
The UNC Division of Gynecologic Oncology currently consists of 10 physicians, 4 advanced practice providers, 6 nurse navigators, and 6 fellows in training. Our Division members provide patient care at Rex Hospital (Raleigh, NC), Cone Hospital (Greensboro, NC), and UNC Hospitals (Chapel Hill, NC). The clinical assignment of this faculty will be at split between UNC Hospital with a second assignment at either REX Hospital. This position will share night and weekend call with other providers.
We are seeking a faculty member with a record of excellence as a clinician.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Completion of a 4-year ACGME residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology and an ABOG approved 3-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology are required, in addition to experience working as a gynecologic oncologist in an academic setting.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Minimally invasive surgery experience is expected.
