Employees of UNCA are provided with a comprehensive benefits package as well as other resources, policies and programs to ensure a happy and healthy work/life balance. Benefit eligible employees have access to dental, vision and health insurance plans - eligibility begins on the first of the month following date of hire. Retirement plan contributions begin on the eligibility date following election and include employer contributions for either a defined contribution or a defined benefit plan. Eligible employees have access to tuition waivers for up to three courses per academic year; employees may enroll at any of the constituent UNC System campuses. The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at UNC Asheville will assist the Head Coach in leading a competitive NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program that aligns with the athletic department strategic plan. The ideal candidate will exhibit character traits of integrity, servant-leadership, work ethic, creativity, and respect for others, and will be passionate about working in college athletics and developing students into Champions and Leaders in the classroom, in the community, and on the court with our current resources. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in the management and administration of all phases of an intercollegiate sports program in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and the University.

Required Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree. Prior experience playing or coaching at the collegiate level.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

• Master's degree preferred.
• Previous collegiate coaching experience.
• Experience as a Division I student-athlete.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This position requires possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to assist and administer all phases of a Women's NCAA Division I Basketball Team in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department and the University including but not limited to coaching, recruiting, team travel, budget management, fund raising, and community relations. Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Athletics Department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Big South Conference. Requires the ability to communicate effectively and to manage multiple tasks.
