What is an unarmed security guard?

Unarmed security guards are professionals responsible for maintaining safety and security at various properties or events without carrying firearms. They monitor premises, control access points, deter criminal activity, and respond to emergencies. Their duties often include patrolling, reporting incidents, and assisting visitors or employees, relying on observation skills and communication rather than weapons. A retail security guard’s goal is theft prevention and video monitoring, while a security guard at a concert hall may check bags for illegal devices.
