Full-Time - Night Shift; 3 12โ€™s, 7pm-7am

University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is looking for extraordinary Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our nursing team. Come elevate your skills and experience by working with a world-class, Magnet designated (3 times in a row) Academic Medical Center. UMMC is the flagship academic medical center at the heart of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) located in downtown Baltimore.


The General (Main) PACU is a 28-bay unit providing 24/7 specialized peri-anesthesia care to patients across the lifespan and spectrum of acuity, 365 days a year. Vigilant pre and post-operative care is provided to inpatients and outpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery by more than 20 surgical and procedural services. This teamโ€™s versatility serves patients treated by a broad array of surgical and medical specialties, providing a variety of clinical experiences for the life-long learner. Nurses must be competent in titration of vasopressors, airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration and fluid resuscitation. Energetic individuals who enjoy applying critical care concepts to dynamic patient care experiences are ideal candidates for this position.

Work Experience
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice under a compact license
  • BSN preferred (Associates Nurses with at least 2+ years of experience)
  • ACLS required for hire, and PALS required within 6 months of hire
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and able to critically think through complex patient scenarios.
  • All applicants must have at least 1-2 yrs. preferred experience in ICU such as Surgical, Medical, and Neuro in an inpatient facility
  • Minimum 1 year ICU experience required. Surgical/trauma ICU preferred.
