Job Description
The Intern Radiology Tech has the unique opportunity to be hired while enrolled in an accredited Radiology or Sonography program. As an Intern Radiology Tech, the Intern Radiology Tech will focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The Intern Radiology Tech is responsible for transporting the patient to and from the department, completing all necessary documentation, and once the patient is in the department may position and prepare equipment for his/her x-ray; depending upon student level of training in Radiology/Ultrasound program. The Intern Radiology Tech cannot create an exposure of ionizing radiation until he/she has graduated from the Radiology Program and has his/her MRT.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Transport patients to and from department
  • Assists others in accomplishing the patient's imaging examination
  • Completes appropriate documentation for the patient's imaging examination or transportation to and from the department
  • May position and prepare equipment for imaging examination; depending upon student's level of training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Enrolled in an Accredited Radiology or Sonography Program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
