Job description

Job Summary
The Sample Production Associate is responsible for preparing composite decking samples for customer distribution. This includes cutting decking materials to specified dimensions, cleaning and inspecting samples, applying labels accurately, and packaging finished samples according to company standards. The role helps ensure customers receive high-quality, professionally prepared product samples.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Completes work area setup and gathers materials required for daily sample production. Cuts composite decking boards to specified sample sizes using approved tools and equipment. Cleans and prepares samples to ensure a professional appearance and removes dust, debris, or manufacturing residue. Inspects samples for quality, color consistency, and defects prior to packaging. Applies product labels, identification tags, and other required markings accurately. Boxes, packs, and prepares finished samples for shipment according to established procedures. Maintains inventory of sample materials, packaging supplies, and labels. Ensures work area is safe, clean, and organized at all times. Operates cutting tools and other equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures. Completes equipment inspections and reports maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors. Maintains production records and documents completed work as required. Verifies that all samples and packaging meet company quality standards before shipment. Follows established safety, quality, and operational procedures. Participates in safety meetings, continuous improvement initiatives, and training programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, packaging, or assembly experience is preferred. Ability to safely operate measuring tools, cutting equipment, and basic hand tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, and move materials as needed. Basic math skills, including measuring and counting. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate cutting and packaging equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in a production or warehouse environment.
