This Licensed Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing clinical services consisting of diagnostic assessments, treatments, mental health education, and counseling. Services are limited to the clients of UF Health Physicians' Division of Psychology. Duties include the treatment of a wide variety of psychological disorders including, but not limited to, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, OCD, Substance Abuse, and Related Disorders in individuals throughout the lifespan.
Responsibilities
Performs a complete intake assessment on each client/new patient and provides treatment planning for each patient. Therapist will provide on-going updates for treatment plans and will make any adjustments necessary.
  • Achieves: Accurately identifies pertinent patient findings and develops a safe, effective care plan for patient. Consistently differentiates considerations to develop the most effective care plan for each patient.
  • Exceeds: Recognized by physicians, patients, and peers as an expert in their field. Takes initiative to identify, develop, implement and improve protocols and procedures that positively impact patient care.

Contributes to and promotes the operational, financial and productivity goals of the assigned cost center.
  • Achieves: Statistical productivity profiles and trends are consistent and competitive with those established as acceptable when compared to established standards and overall team performance.
  • Exceeds: Statistical productivity profiles and trends consistently exceed established standards and overall team performance. Assists ACU Manager to identify, develop, and implement new programs that enhance revenue and increase productivity.

Exhibits excellent documentation skills, including the timely and accurate completion and maintenance of clinical and departmental documentation.
  • Achieves: Accurately documents and maintains information in the medical record according to departmental guidelines, third party payer requirements, and regulatory agency requirements. Audits reveal that documentation of assessments, discharge planning, case management and clinical sessions is current. Develops, implements and modifies treatment plans in a timely fashion.
  • Exceeds: Takes on the role as a formal mentor for another staff member to ensure that new staff understands and masters the documentation system.

  • Achieves: Meets state/national/professional standards to maintain license/certification. Remains current in knowledge of professional standards, guidelines and practice issues; Sets realistic and appropriate professional goals; independently seeks opportunities for professional goals and makes progress towards achieving identified goals.

Publishes material, presents educational topics and/or conducts research to advance the knowledge of the profession at a state, regional, national, international level. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or another related field required.
  • Two years of experience in behavioral health services strongly preferred.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required.
  • Previous experience with Epic or other electronic medical record system preferred.
  • Knowledge of Florida's Mental Health, Alcohol, and Drug Abuse laws required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC required.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'
