We are seeking an engineer with a strong passion for low‑level development and hands‑on hardware experience.ResponsibilitiesYou will work at the intersection of hardware and software, helping to design, develop, and deliver cutting‑edge workstation solutions used by some of the world’s most demanding customers.As an engineer on the HP Z Workstations team, you will design, develop, debug, and maintain UEFI system firmware (BIOS) to deliver innovative solutions to customers.You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with early access to unreleased hardware and software, gaining broad technical experience while solving complex customer problems.Desired Experience and KnowledgeThe ideal candidate has excellent troubleshooting skills, a drive to identify root cause, and the ability to work effectively across teams.You should be innovative, self‑motivated, quality‑focused, and possess strong communication and technical skills.Professional experience in firmware developmentStrong C programming skills.Experience with UEFI/BIOS, microcontrollers, embedded systems or other low-level code.Experience with debuggers, protocol analyzers, and software development tools.Knowledge of hardware-software integration and low-level system design.EducationBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similarCritical CompetenciesAbility to write clear, solid code that can be maintained by others.Strong debug and troubleshooting skills.Strong teamwork and leadership skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to manage conflicting priorities and tight schedules.Demonstrated ability to take initiative and get things done.Passion for quality and putting customers first.The pay range for this role is $93,400 to $143,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
