Job description

Looking to make a difference in an innovative and dynamic non-profit agency? UCP of Central Florida unlocks the potential of thousands of children each year at our campuses, pediatric therapy clinics and parent support programs.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher's direction.
  2. Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
  3. Assist in administering assessments/program monitoring.
  4. Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
  5. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
  6. Perform teacher duties in his/her absence.
  7. Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)
  8. Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
  9. Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
  10. Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
  11. Ensure the administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
  12. Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Training: (or equivalent)
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent college credits (60) or current CDA
  • CPR/First Aid Training
  • 45 Hour DCF Training (or complete within first 90 days)

Minimum Experience:
  • 1 to 3 years classroom experience preferred with PreK population.
  • Prefer experience working with young children with special needs in a multi-disciplinary setting.
