Job Overview
The Department of Administration and Finance is recruiting for a Director of Housekeeping. This role provides leadership for the administrative and fiscal operations of housekeeping services within an assigned area. The Director develops and implements goals and objectives to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that supports students, staff, faculty, and researchers.
Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives to provide an environment conducive to students, staff, faculty and/or researchers.
  • Participate in daily problem solving to ensure effective accomplishments of all tasks and functions within a specific area.
  • Review, coordinate and implement programs aimed to improve the productivity and quality of work life at the university.
  • Maintain budgetary control; recommend, review and approve purchase of equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure departmental and University compliance.
  • Serve as member on various committees (internal/external) and act as liaison on issues relating to housekeeping services.
  • Keep abreast of current trends that may affect university operations.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). 
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience
  • Nine (9) years of experience in housekeeping or maintenance administration.
  • Three (3) years supervision.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Sitting - Continuously
