Job description

UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is hiring Full Time Physical Therapists. We currently have opportunities at the following clinic locations;

  • Brookbridge - 5959 Big Tree Road, Orchard Park NY 14127
  • 716 Health - 111 North Maplemere Rd, Williamsville NY 14221
  • Depew/Lancaster - 5102 Transit Rd, Depew NY 14043
  • Canalside - 100 Washington Street, Buffalo NY 14203. First floor of LECOM Harborcenter.

*This is an excellent opportunity, new graduates and experienced Physical Therapists are encouraged to apply. Salary range is competitive based on experience/certifications. Range is 65K-85K

JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist is responsible for developing and administering a physical therapy program that meets the patientโ€™s goals and needs by assessing and interpreting evaluations.

The following attributes are preferred key components in this role;

  • Ability to work effectively with sports performance teams
  • Strong manual skills & knowledge of recovery systems

JOB DUTIES

  • Analyzes risk, problem solves effectively and demonstrates a high level of professional judgment when recommending and providing services, making environmental modifications and training staff to manage physical needs at an appropriate level of supervision.
  • Provides competent physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercise, balance coordination and agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength power and endurance training, functional training in self-care and home management, manual therapy, application and adjustment of assistive devices, application and adjustment of physical agents and electrotherapeutic modalities compliant with federal and state licensing requirements, APTA standards documents (eg, Guide for Conduct for the PTA, Code of Ethics), and facility policies and procedures. .
  • Provides direct supervision of physical therapy assistants in accordance with the Guidelines for PT Practice in NYS.
  • Evaluates effects of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patientโ€™s progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.
  • Assure safety of patient and self throughout patient care.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Respects and protects the confidentiality of all patient and Company information through the adherence of all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements

Bachelorโ€™s degree required along with successful completion of a NYS or APTA accredited Physical Therapy program. Certification to practice in NYS as evidenced by current licensure.

  • Experience Requirements

Background in sports medicine and/or professional experience in outpatient orthopaedic environment preferred.

  • Skills and Competencies Requirements

Skill in selecting and providing a wide range of intervention strategies and monitoring their effectiveness.

Ability to plan, coordinate and provide training and continuing education both formally and informally to staff and other medical professionals.

Above average communication and customer service skills.
