Job description

Position Overview
  • Department: Birth Suites
  • Schedule: PRN, Nights
  • Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham
What You Will Do

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
  • Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.

  • Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.ย
