Job description

Job Details:

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and company assets associated with Beef processing while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Troubleshoot facility and equipment problems that occur in the day- to-day operations. Perform work that involves hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC/CD control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems. Set up, adjust, and break down production machinery. Preform scheduled preventative maintenance duties. Complete daily reports and paperwork. Work environments are wet and humid. Temperatures range from 35 to 90+ degrees. The successful candidate(s)must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Work includes climbing ladders, working from elevated platforms, standing, and walking on hard floors and occasional lift of 60 lbs. All shifts include Sunday work and overtime as scheduled.

Requirements: Must have a minimum of 1 year mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers if experience is at least 1 year). Proficiency in reading and writing ; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend labels, numbers, and instructions, as well as communicate effectively.

Maintenance crews typically work 4-5 days per week, with 2-3 days off and will include shifts on Sundays and some major holidays when necessary; Welding experience preferred. Must be available to work C shift (overnight). Effective 01-02-2025 Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson have a 180 days rehire waiting period and 3 times limit.
