Job description

This is a weigh-master position in addition to a security officer posting.ย  This officer ensures compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations in addition to having a Texas security officer license and a US TWIC card.

Schedule:ย Wed 2230โ€“0430; Thuโ€“Sat 1630โ€“0430

Active Texas guard card - Level 2 minimum.

Active TWIC in hand.

Active HASC certification preferred - Safety Essentials minimum.

Available to work any shift.

Candidates called for screening may provide a detail of any schedule or skill limitations. Be honest.

Screening will include a thorough background check including TOPS history review.

Following are basic site requirements that may apply to any position offering. If any aspect of these requirements present a challenge, honestly discuss strengths and weaknesses during any screening interview.

Responsibilities:

  • Access Control - Monitoring and controlling the entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and materials, preventing unauthorized access.
  • Incident Response - Responding to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
  • Security Protocol Enforcement - Ensuring that all personnel and visitors adhere to the refinery's security policies and procedures.
  • Emergency Response - Following established emergency procedures and protocols during incidents, including evacuation procedures and communication with relevant authorities.
  • Documentation - Maintaining accurate records of safety and security incidents, patrols, and other relevant activities, and preparing reports for management.
  • Collaboration - Working closely with other security personnel, emergency responders, and plant management to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Training and Awareness - Participating in security training programs and promoting security awareness among plant personnel.
  • Qualifications:
  • Licensing - Active TWIC required, active level 2 or above security license required, active safety council certification preferred
  • Technical Skills - A deep understanding of security protocols, emergency response and surveillance systems.
  • Soft Skills - Communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, customer service, attention to detail and patience.
  • Experience - Prior experience in industrial security settings, law enforcement or the military is desirable. All licensed security professionals will be considered.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements - Must be physically able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks. Must be able to focus, multi-task and handle stressful situations. Vision must be correctable to normal levels. Must be able to work in various environmental extremes (hot, cold, dry, wet, dusty, loud, etc.).
