Our Registered Communication Distribution Designers have designed and installed thousands of structured cabling systems, and our AV systems integrations teams have a depth of experience unmatched in the industry. 

Job Overview: The Voice Data Industrial Technician will work to complete all phases of the project’s installation. The individual must have strong industry knowledge of best practices and installation standards consistent with the manufactures specifications. Must be proficient in identifying, pulling, labeling, and terminating a variety of structured cables and supporting structures.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Required to identify, pull, and label Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper and fiber optic cables
  • Install support structures such as J-hooks, support rings, cable slings, and cable trays/ladder racks
  • Ability to work in an industrial plant environment
  • Familiar with EIA/TIA standards
  • Exposure to closet dressing, termination of closet equipment, and multi-pair color code terminations
  • Termination experience with multi-pair standard cable and experience with both ends of basic level testing as well as high-level testing and documentation
  • Ability to read blueprints, identify cable paths, and have some experience with site surveys
  • Demonstrates understanding of all field safety requirements and understanding of use and function of all required personal protective equipment

Qualifications:

  • Must have good communication skills to interface directly with customers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a hair drug test
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • TWIC card is required
  • Fiber and Rigid conduit experience a plus
