Welcome to National Trade Supply, where we prioritize efficiency and teamwork in our warehouse operations. As an Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our inventory management processes. Your primary responsibility will be to put away incoming inventory and replenish bays by pulling down inventory from higher bays, ensuring that our warehouse is organized and ready for our pickers. You will primarily operate the wire-guided turret truck, along with other equipment, to maintain a smooth workflow in our distribution center.

Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling & Equipment Operation
    • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, or other powered industrial equipment to move, stack, and organize inventory.
    • Pull pallets for large or bulk orders as directed by fulfillment or inventory teams.
    • Replenish pick locations to ensure order pickers have consistent access to product.
    • Put away received goods into assigned racking locations with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inventory & Accuracy
    • Scan and record all product movements in the warehouse management system (WMS).
    • Verify item, quantity, and location accuracy when moving or storing inventory.
    • Report inventory discrepancies, damage, or safety concerns to the Inbound Team Lead.
  • Safety & Maintenance
    • Follow all warehouse safety policies and equipment operating procedures.
    • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
  • Teamwork & Communication
    • Coordinate closely with Inbound, Outbound, and Inventory teams to ensure smooth warehouse flow.
    • Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding priorities and challenges.
    • Assist with other warehouse functions as needed during peak periods or cross-training.



Requirements:


  • High School Diploma, GED, and equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Mid-level experience as an equipment operator in a warehouse or distribution center on a wire-guided turret truck.
  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and precision in executing tasks.
  • Ability to maintain consistency in repetitive tasks while ensuring quality.
  • Curiosity to take action and improve processes.
  • Self-awareness and critical thinking skills to adapt to changing situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Continuous standing or sitting and minimal walking on flat surfaces.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Continuous use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Occasional, minimal rotation at the trunk.
  • Occasional reaching at shoulder height.

Work Environment:

  • Work area is located indoors within a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • The work area is not climate controlled so employees may be exposed to hot, cold, and/or humid climates depending on the time of year.
  • The area has elevated noise levels, but not which exceed an 85 dBA 8-hour TWA.
  • Employees may be exposed to environments with dust or other airborne particles in the air.
