Location: FL-Jacksonville

Job Title:  IT Engineer - WFOX/WJAX TV

Position Overview

WFOX/WJAX TV Jacksonville is looking for an IT Engineer!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

IT Support

  • Provide IT support for computers, servers, and software used by staff
  • Assist with network connectivity and IP-based systems used in production and broadcasting.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide user support as needed
  • Help maintain data storage, backups, and system security practices
  • Design, configure and maintain IT and Broadcast Server Systems

Broadcast Operations

  • Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of television broadcast and production equipment
  • Assist with live broadcasts and recorded productions to ensure reliable on-air performance
  • Monitor equipment and systems to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment upgrades
  • Help document technical processes and workflows

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to support daily operations
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical staff
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers when necessary
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required for broadcasts
Minimum Qualifications
  • An associates degree or training in Broadcast Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, networking, and troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and move broadcast or IT equipment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
  • Comfortable working in studio, control room, and office environments
  • Onsite essential role
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or information systems preferred
  • Familiarity with IP-based broadcast or production systems
  • 2+ years' experience working with television production or broadcast environments
  • Relevant technical certifications (broadcast or IT-related)
  • Experience supporting live events or time-sensitive operations
