* Lead the newscast: Anchor and produce dynamic newscasts as needed, bringing energy and authority to every broadcast and ensuring our viewers are informed and connected.
* Own the story cycle: From generating 3+ fresh story ideas daily to breaking news live on location, you'll be the force driving our local coverage.
* Drive digital engagement: Master social media and online news production, updating our website and social accounts throughout the day with urgency and immediacy.
* Connect with the community: Build authentic relationships and truly "think like a viewer," delivering news that matters most to the local community.
* Collaborate seamlessly: Work hand-in-hand with the news team, bringing a great attitude and leadership skills to every shift, even when schedules shift.
* Uphold our standards: Adhere to the highest standards of news judgment, ethics, and station branding in all content you create.

* Proven broadcast journalism experience: You know the rhythm of a newsroom and the demands of live television.
* Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills: You craft balanced, clear, and concise copy that grabs attention.
* A true digital-first mindset: You don't just understand digital/social media strategy; you execute it with urgency.
* Sharp news judgment and unwavering ethics: You know what's important and how to tell the story responsibly.
* The grit to go get the story: Able to carry 35-45 pounds of ENG equipment and ready to cover anything from features to breaking news.
* Impeccable time management skills and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
* Integrity, accountability, and a team-player attitude—you make the newsroom better.
* A valid driver's license and a clean driving record—you're ready to hit the road when news breaks.
* Flexibility to work various schedules, as news doesn't always keep regular hours.
Why You'll Love It Here:
* Multi-faceted impact: This isn't just a job; it's a chance to truly shape local news across all platforms.
* Community connection: You'll be at the forefront of stories that matter, building real relationships within the KEYC News Now community.
* Dynamic environment: One day you're digging deep into a feature, the next you're live on breaking news. Every day is different, and every day is exciting.
* Competitive compensation: We offer a salary/wage of $20-23 per hour (DOE), reflecting your valuable experience and versatility.
