Job description

Samba is a media intelligence company. We know what the world is watching, reading, and thinking about — in real time, at scale, across every screen. Our data exists with the consent of over a billion people, organized into the most complete picture of consumer attention ever built. The biggest brands in the world use that picture to make smarter decisions. We think it’s the most interesting data asset on the planet, because it’s the most culturally relevant.

We are looking for a high-energy, ambitious individual with a passion for media and advertising to join our growing revenue organization. As an Associate Account Executive (AAE), you are the tip of the spear in identifying key brand and agency targets, driving outbound engagement, and booking strategic meetings that fuel our growth.

This is an entry-level role designed for someone who is hungry to learn, resilient in the face of rejection, and is seeking a future in sales, while being provided with the right building block to achieve success

At Samba, we don't believe in silos. You will be embedded in a Sales Pod, working alongside a Team Lead and Senior Account Executives. Your growth is accelerated through our unique enablement structure

  • Direct Sales Immersion (Months 1–6): During your first six months, you will receive intensive direct sales experience by shadowing every meeting generated through your outreach. You will observe elite discovery and pitching firsthand, participate in post-call debriefs, and manage CRM hygiene to master the mechanics of high-stakes deal-making.

  • Tech-Driven Market Mastery: You will leverage Samba's best-in-class technology stack  including Gong, Salesforce, and our proprietary AI insights tools to master our go-to-market strategy. By analyzing sales meetings and data-driven engagement patterns, you will rapidly develop the business acumen needed to navigate the complex ad-tech landscape.

  • Direct Mentorship: You will receive direct coaching from Senior AEs and structured training from our Sales Enablement team to prepare you for your own Pitch Certification.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect & Qualify: Identify and scale revenue-generating relationships with advertisers and agencies within your assigned territory or vertical.

  • Outbound Execution: Persuasively communicate Samba's unique value proposition via email, phone, and social sequences to secure high-level meetings.

  • Strategic Support: Report to a Samba Sales Leader, helping maintain and grow an existing book of business while hunting for new opportunities.

  • Thought Partnership: Act as a consultant for industry-leading agencies as they evolve their TV and video strategies through data.

  • Collaborate: Work with Programmatic teams to build proposals that exceed client marketing objectives.

  • Represent: Help develop local marketing initiatives and represent Samba at industry events.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; candidates from top-tier universities with competitive GPAs and notable accomplishments are strongly preferred.

  • 0-2 years of experience in an advertising agency, sales and trading, technology, or an equivalent professional or academic background; relevant internships count.

  • Demonstrated track record of performing against goals and winning in competitive environments.

  • Ability to deconstruct complex business challenges using structured, logic-based reasoning to develop clear, data-informed solutions.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity; applies first-principles thinking to craft proposals that resonate with both marketing and finance stakeholders.

  • Customer-focused with excellent communication, networking, and negotiation skills; adept at building trusted partnerships at all levels of client organizations.

  • Knowledge of the TV, online, and mobile advertising ecosystem — including data, targeting, and measurement — is a strong plus.

  • Existing relationships with media buying decision-makers preferred.

AI Fluency
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to streamline workflows, including interpreting model-generated recommendations, stress-testing assumptions, and translating insights into client-facing strategy.

  • Familiarity with how AI and ML are reshaping audience measurement, targeting, and attribution in the TV and streaming advertising landscape is a strong plus.

  • Desire to learn how to utilize AI-powered tools for sales productivity  including CRM intelligence, proposal generation, audience insights, and campaign optimization

Bonus Points For
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) and data analysis tools.

  • Background in public speaking, debate, or competitive presentations.

  • Existing knowledge of the TV, digital, social and programmatic advertising landscape.
