Job description

Job Title: Content Producer              

Dept. /School: Lubbock ISD-TV

Reports to: Coordinator, Lubbock ISD-TV

Length of Contract: 226

Pay Range:  AP1

Wage/Hour Status:   Exempt

Primary Purpose:

Support the mission of Lubbock ISD-TV by creating high-quality multimedia content that highlights the students, staff, programs, and initiatives of Lubbock ISD. The Content Producer will also serve as a media instructor - providing real-world learning opportunities for high school students interested in audio/video production, broadcast journalism, digital media, and live event pr                       oduction.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in one of the following areas:
    • Broadcast Journalism, Media Production, Communications, or Digital Media
    • Education
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong storytelling, writing, and communication skills
  • Experience with live event production and streaming
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and community partners
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following settings:
    • Television station
    • Professional video production environment
    • Educational media program
    • K12 or higher education environment

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Produce video content for Lubbock ISD-TV and other district departments/schools
    1. Shoot, edit, write, and deliver professional-quality multimedia content under deadlines
    2. Post content on web, social media, and broadcast television
  2. Student Instruction & Support
    1. Participate in professional learning and remain current on industry trends as well as educational techniques
    2. Assist with instruction and supervision of students involved in Lubbock ISD-TV and audio/video production classes
    3. Support a classroom and production environment conducive to student learning and success
    4. Help supervise students during productions, events, competitions, and other program activities
  3. Live Production
    1. Assist in planning and producing live broadcasts including board meetings, athletic events, graduations, and special district events
    2. Operate or oversee cameras, audio, graphics, replay, switching, streaming, and other production equipment
  4. Duties as assigned
