Labcorp is seeking a hybrid Director, Chief of Staff - Employee Experience to join our team at 10 Moore Drive, Durham, NC. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week and two days working remotely, supporting both collaboration and flexibility

Key Responsibilities

1. Executive Chief of Staff & Strategic Enablement

  • Act as a trusted thought partner to the VP, enabling focus on the highest-value priorities while ensuring excellence in execution.

  • Translate strategic intent into clear priorities, operating plans, and decision frameworks for the leadership team.

  • Anticipate leadership needs, surface risks and tensions, and proactively drive resolution.

  • Prepare the VP for executive engagements, board-level discussions, and senior enterprise forums, including briefing materials, narratives, and talking points.

  • Serve as an extension of the VP in key forums, driving alignment and follow-through across teams and partners.

2. Portfolio, Rhythm, and Delivery Discipline

  • Orchestrate the operating rhythm of the Employee Experience leadership team (planning cycles, QBRs, staff meetings, retrospectives).

  • Maintain visibility into all major operational commitments, enterprise programs, and transformation initiatives.

  • Establish and enforce decision frameworks, priorities, and trade-offs across competing initiatives, with clear accountability for outcomes

  • Drive cross-functional planning and dependency management across HR Technology, People Services, Analytics, Compliance, and Employee Relations.

  • Own the Employee Experience planning processes, portfolio governance, and execution standards across the function

  • Accountable for end-to-end visibility, prioritization, and delivery outcomes across the Employee Experience portfolio

  • Ensure clarity of ownership, timelines, outcomes, and success measures across a complex portfolio of work.

  • Support preparation for enterprise planning processes, investment reviews, and roadmap articulation.

3. Enterprise Transformation & AI Enablement Support

  • Partner closely with leaders driving AI-enabled HR transformation and enterprise agentic capabilities.

  • Help shape narratives, user value propositions, and adoption strategies for new AI-powered offerings.

  • Track enterprise commitments and ensure readiness across policy, communications, enablement, and rollout.

4. Executive Storytelling & Creative Design Leadership

  • Serve as the accountable leader for executive communications and narrative strategy for Employee Experience, ensuring consistency, clarity, and impact across enterprise audiences

  • Personally create and/or elevate executive PowerPoint materials with a very high standard for visual design, narrative flow, and storytelling.

  • Support senior leaders in developing materials that meet executive-level expectations for clarity, polish, and impact.

  • Establish reusable templates, design standards, and storytelling approaches that scale across the organization.

  • Translate complex concepts (AI, analytics, compliance, service delivery) into compelling, accessible stories that influence executives and employees alike.

5. Leadership Team Enablement and Culture

  • Enable the Employee Experience senior leadership team to operate as a cohesive, high-performing unit.

  • Coach leaders (formally and informally) on executive presence, narrative development, and communication effectiveness.

  • Reinforce accountability, trust, and clarity across the leadership team.

  • Act as a cultural carrier for quality, experience excellence, and disciplined execution.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in roles such as Chief of Staff, Strategy & Operations, Transformation, Consulting, Marketing & Communications, senior HR/EX enablement roles

  • 1 year experience in agentic AI, advanced analytics, or digital product environments

  • 1 year experience withadvanced PowerPoint skills, visual storytelling, and executive communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in HR, Employee Experience, or large-scale enterprise transformation

  • 1 year of experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives affecting large employee populations (50k+)

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly strategic, execution-oriented, and creatively exceptional Chief of Staff to support the Vice President of Employee Experience and the senior leadership team of a 250-person global Employee Experience function. This role operates as a force multiplier for executive effectiveness, business rigor, and experience quality across operations, transformation programs, and enterprise-wide initiatives impacting 70,000 employees globally.

In addition to traditional Chief of Staff responsibilities - including executive prioritization, operating cadence, portfolio management, and leadership enablement - this role will serve as a design and experience thought partner. The successful candidate will raise the bar on how we "go to market" with HR: shaping narratives, crafting compelling executive materials, influencing user experience decisions, and maintaining a cohesive brand and storytelling approach for Employee Experience.

This is a Director-level role, reports directly to the VP, and is a core member of the Employee Experience Senior Leadership Team.
