Job description

Job Description DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING/PROCUREMENT - Direct Hire | Fishers, IN Pinnacle Partners is a staffing firm specializing in Information Technology, Accounting & Finance, Administrative, Human Resources, and Engineering/Manufacturing roles. We support clients and candidates in Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, and other cities across the Midwest. About the Role Our client is looking for a Director of Purchasing/Procurement to build and lead a scalable procurement function.

You'll manage a small purchasing team, partner directly with senior leadership, and drive down spend through vendor consolidation, stronger processes, and smarter sourcing. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing team - empowering Purchasing Managers to keep owning their categories and vendor relationships, rather than pulling that work back to yourself. Set the vision for the department and hold it accountable, including having the tough conversations when they're needed.

Communicate clearly, confidently, and directly with the CEO and EVP, and later the CFO, as a trusted procurement partner. Own the full contract lifecycle - renewal calendar, obligations, and vendor accountability. Help determine what the company should stock in-house versus source through vendors, and select and implement the systems and processes to support it.

Reduce fragmented spend and consolidate vendors, pursuing the best total value - not just the lowest unit price - as the organization continues to grow. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain. 10+ years of procurement and purchasing experience, including 5+ years leading a team.

Proven experience building or transforming a procurement function. Experience selecting and implementing procurement systems. Multi-site experience across a mix of spend categories.

A lean-team leadership style that delegates and develops, rather than staying in the weeds. Comfortable owning contracts and leveraging AI tools in the process. Position Type: Direct Hire | Onsite (Fishers, IN) Explore More Accounting & Finance Opportunities This role falls within our Accounting & Finance division, where we specialize in placing professionals in areas such as: Procurement & Purchasing Leadership Supply Chain & Vendor Management Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Contract & Compliance Management Explore additional Accounting & Finance roles and learn more about how we support Accounting & Finance professionals: https://www.partnersinstaffing.com/find-jobs or https://www.partnersinstaffing.com/finance-accounting Not the right fit
