Build the Workforce. Develop Leaders. Shape the Future.
Lead the Next Chapter of a Growing Engineering Firm
Turning the Corner HR has been retained by Halker to identify its next Vice President of Human Resources.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to simply maintain the status quo.
We're seeking a strategic HR executive who is energized by building, influencing, and leading organizational change. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll serve as a key business partner responsible for shaping the company's people strategy while helping position the organization for its next phase of growth.
You'll work alongside executive leadership to strengthen organizational effectiveness, modernize workforce planning, elevate leadership capability, and build scalable HR systems that support both employees and the business.
If you're motivated by solving complex business challenges, creating practical solutions, and leaving an organization stronger than you found it, we'd love to talk with you.
What You'll Lead
As Vice President of Human Resources, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization by:
- Serving as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.
- Designing and implementing a modern performance management system that reinforces accountability, leadership development, and business results.
- Optimizing a flexible workforce model that blends full-time employees, contractors, and alternative staffing arrangements to match talent with project demand.
- Leading organizational design initiatives that improve structure, communication, and team effectiveness.
- Building scalable recruiting strategies to attract and retain exceptional engineering and technical talent.
- Coaching leaders through organizational change while strengthening leadership capability throughout the company.
- Partnering with ownership to design and administer long-term and equity-linked incentive programs appropriate for a privately held organization.
- Evaluating compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs to ensure long-term competitiveness.
- Continuing to strengthen HR systems, processes, compliance, and technology to support a growing organization.
What Success Looks Like in Your First Year
- A performance management framework designed and in use that ties individual accountability to leadership development and business results.
- A workforce planning process that consistently matches talent to project demand and reduces gaps and unbilled time.
- A recommended long-term incentive framework developed in partnership with ownership and ready for executive decision.
- A visible, repeatable cadence of leadership coaching and development across the management team.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive senior HR leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership on business and organizational strategy.
- Experience leading organizational change, workforce planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Strong background in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and HR operations.
- Experience building or significantly improving HR programs, systems, and infrastructure.
- Experience operating within EOS®, Traction, or a comparable accountability operating system is a plus.
- Experience with phantom equity, synthetic equity, 409A plans, or other long-term incentive programs is a plus.
- SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification is a plus.
Industry Experience
Experience in oil and gas, engineering services, energy, industrial services, manufacturing, construction, EPC/EPCM, or other technical professional services environments is highly valued.
We're especially interested in leaders who understand project-based organizations, technical talent, and workforce models that support dynamic business needs.
