Job description

Summary: Take direction from a skilled worker or foreman to assist crew in construction duties. Performs any combination of following tasks to receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
  • To work well with supervision.
  • Furnish tools and materials for others in their crew.
  • Work with various hand tools.
  • Fire-watch, Bottle-watch or Hole-watch duties.
  • Operate limited types of equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of roles and responsibilities of the craft being supported.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested by supervision.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Must have over three (3) years of maintenance/turnaround/construction/ or mechanical experience and knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass Craft Helper proficiency testing at or above 70%. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen and if hired, will be subject to random drug & alcohol testing during the course of employment. Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Stand or walk for long periods
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
  • Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
