Job description

The Chemical Applicator Technician is responsible for the safe and effective application of fertilizers, herbicides and other lawn care treatments to residential and commercial properties. This position plays a key role in maintaining healthy lawns by identifying turf conditions, controlling weeds, and providing professional lawn care services. The technician operates specialized application equipment, follows all safety and environmental regulations, and ensures high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides and other lawn treatment products according to company standards and state regulations.
  • Operate and maintain lawn care equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, and ride-on application units.
  • Evaluate lawn conditions to identify weeds, insects, disease, and lawn health issues.
  • Follow proper chemical handling, mixing, storage, and disposal procedures in compliance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service records, application logs, and customer treatment notes.
  • Communicate with customers regarding lawn care services, treatment schedules, and basic recommendations for lawn maintenance.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of application equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company in a courteous manner.
  • During Winter season, assist with snow and ice operations
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3OT and CORE Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Experience on fertilization Z-Spray machine preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills
