Turf Masters Lawn & Landscape is seeking a professional, dedicated, and self-motivated Certified Turf and Ornamental Health Technician to join our team. We value teamwork, safety, and growth. This role involves fertilizer and pesticide applications, turf maintenance, and landscape maintenance, ensuring top-quality results for our clients. This position participates in our snow and ice management operation in the winter as well. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.


Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a pickup with a trailer.
  • Safely apply pesticides, including but not limited to herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides, to ensure optimal turf and ornamental health.
  • Conduct licensed applicator tasks, including weed and other pest control, fertilization, and overall plant health care, operating ride-on and walk-behind ground application equipment,
  • Conduct lawn and landscape maintenance tasks, operating ride-on and walk-behind turf maintenance equipment, and performing general lawn and landscape care tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging, as well as weed control, shrub and ornamental pruning, and cleanups to maintain well-kept landscapes.
  • Maintain, repair, and clean company vehicles and equipment for peak performance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to address concerns and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Document work performed, including materials used and time spent on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Perform additional tasks using hand and power tools to ensure high-quality results.
  • Keep clear and accurate records of all work completed, including applications, maintenance, and services performed.
  • This position also participates in our snow and ice management operation in the winter.
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of landscaping experience, including turf care and landscape maintenance.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; further certifications or training are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant care, turf health, and landscape maintenance.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, ride-on ground equipment, and large/heavy equipment like skid and mini-skid loaders.
  • A valid State of Iowa Certified Pesticide Applicator’s License is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
