Job description

Salary: $18-$22 Hourly

Job Description: The Installation Apprentice must have a positive, can-do attitude, be an eager learner, be conscious of safety requirements, work effectively as a team member, dress appropriately, be punctual, and follow all instructions given by Irrigation Installation Foreman or Leadman.

Reports to: The Installation Apprentice reports directly to the Installation Crew Leader.

Skill set and educational requirements:

  1. No previous construction experience needed.
  2. Possess a valid drivers license and be insurable on companys insurance policy.
  3. Physically able to handle the workload of an Irrigation Installation Team Member and have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  4. Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
  5. Have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Follows all instruction given by the Irrigation Installation Crew Leader or Leadman.
  2. Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies and safety manual.
  3. Reports any/all unsafe conditions or accidents.
  4. Properly and safely operates equipment.
  5. Reports to work on time.
  6. Is a willing learner who seeks to master basic skills of irrigation installation.
  7. Reports to work in a clean, appropriate uniform and wearing the appropriate boots.
  8. Able to communicate with a supervisor in a timely and thorough manner.
  9. Completes assigned tasks efficiently, thoroughly, and per company production rates.
  10. Able to use basic tools safely and properly.
  11. Continuing education requirement: minimum of 10 hours per year.

Salary, bonus, or commissions: Commensurate with experience. ($15 to $18 per hour). Up to 1% of gross irrigation installations sales of $45,000 or more per month.

Appraisal criteria: The primary appraisal criteria for the Irrigation Installation Leadman is to be able to perform 75% of all irrigation installation tasks in a safe manner with minimal supervision, while meeting or exceeding company production standards and maintaining a high level of crew morale.
