Job Overview

Nikkiso Cryogenic Services is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and precision testing of advanced turbo and cryogenic rotating equipment.

This is not a general mechanic role. This is precision rotating equipment work supporting critical global energy, industrial gas, and marine applications. The equipment you service directly impacts mission-critical operations around the world.

If you are a hands-on technician who takes pride in tight tolerances, precision measurements, and solving complex mechanical challenges - this role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading cryogenic pumps and turbo expanders in a high-performance, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Precision Disassembly, Inspection & Rebuild

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble cryogenic pumps, turbo expanders, and related rotating systems.
  • Perform detailed mechanical measurements and diagnostics using precision instruments.
  • Evaluate component condition and determine part usability and disposition.
  • Execute repairs in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Perform precision balancing of rotating assemblies.

Testing, Measurement & Documentation

  • Complete build-up sheets with accurate "as-left" close tolerance measurements.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, torque tools, and specialty equipment.
  • Ensure all work meets Nikkiso quality, safety, and technical standards.
  • Complete detailed repair documentation, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within workshop processes.

Collaboration & Operational Support

  • Partner with engineers and project managers to execute repair scopes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams for parts and materials.
  • Support inventory management of tools, consumables, and replacement components.

Safety & Professional Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, policies, and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing safety and technical training programs.
  • Model safety accountability and adherence to company standards.
Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in a mechanical workshop, repair, maintenance, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience working with rotating equipment such as pumps, turbo machinery, compressors, or similar precision systems.
  • Experience with precision balancing equipment.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and mechanical specifications.
  • Advanced precision measurement skills.
