Description
The General Laborer 1 role performs a variety of general manual labor tasks in support of daily site operations which could include general building and grounds maintenance, cleaning, maintaining the tunnel, customer service in Household Hazardous Waste, and complying on both the Tipping Floor and the Small Vehicle Drop Off area.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and maintain traffic flow as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness of tipping floor, tunnel and the site
  • Monitor waste and sign manifests
  • Perform litter checks of grounds and surrounding areas
  • Occasional operation of equipment if trained
  • Occasional yard jockey duties or pulling roll-off boxes, if an active CDL holder
  • Be available to assist in other capacities, as qualified and assigned, to maintain the facility operation as directed by the Site Supervisor

Education, Training or Certification:
  • Must be at least age 18

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • This position is categorized as a Safety Sensitive Position and as such, employees are required to follow all related safety policies & procedures
  • This position requires the employee to work outdoors in all weather conditions. There are also occasional dusty conditions making it necessary for the employee to walk away from the dusty area until it clears
  • Sweep, shovel, and lift up to 60 lbs
  • Bend frequently
  • Able to remain on feet and walk for many hours at a time
  • Perform all work within Environmental Management System policies in order to comply with procedures
