Tufting Jobs in California (NOW HIRING)

THE ROLE

Avocado is currently looking for a Tufter to be part of the Production team. This role will report to the Mattress Build Manager.

This role plays a key part in the final assembly process of our eco-friendly, organic mattresses. The Tufter ensures that each mattress meets our high standards of quality, comfort, and craftsmanship.

• Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations.
• Note on Pay Transparency: The pay range for this role is $17.00 - $18.25 Hourly.

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

• Secure layers of mattress materials by making uniform tufts at regular intervals using specialized tufting tools and equipment.

• Pass threads through mattresses or cushions to create tufting depressions and ensure materials remain firmly in place.

• Move mattresses between workstations and assist with positioning materials for assembly.

• Inspect mattresses during and after tufting to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation at all times.

• Promote and follow company safety culture and Cal/OSHA regulations.

• Assist teammates and collaborate across departments as needed to meet production goals.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in production, manufacturing, upholstery, or a related field (mattress or furniture experience a plus).

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently.

• Willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.

• Reliable, with consistent and predictable attendance.

• Safety-first mindset: ability to identify hazards and report incidents or unsafe conditions promptly.

• Regular and predictable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to wear personal protective gear like safety glasses.

• Must be comfortable working in an environment with machinery noise.

• Stationary position: Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.

• Movements:

  • Must be able to move throughout the warehouse to access different machines.

  • Must be able to frequently move material weighing up to 50 pounds.
