Senior Engineer - Tubular Running Services

The Global TRS Technical Support Senior Engineer ensures Baker Hughes delivers flawless execution by providing Technical Support to the Service Delivery and Sales organizations when needed in pre-planning, job execution, and post job analysis. Reports To: Service Delivery Technical Manager


Partner with the best

As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing as Subject Matter Expert for Tubular Running Services (TRS)

  • Being knowledgable of industry common TRS related equipment - i.e. tubular handling tools, power tongs, surface equipment, and work processes

  • Supporting the field technically through different media (online, phone calls and technical papers)

  • Handling special projects, iteration, & adaptation as required

  • Ensuring compliance with the Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process

  • Providing 24/7 Support for Critical Operations in the field, as needed

  • Sharing the knowledge across the organization by submitting best practices, case histories & lessons learned to the knowledge management database

  • Following up on field failures that requires Technology involvement and ensure that the learning is shared across the field

  • Raising an alert across the Service Delivery organization whenever an unfamiliar technical issues arises on a job

  • Coaching other technical resources in their area of expertise

  • Communicating to Engineering and Technology organization on issues and lessons learned related to different technologies

Fuel your passion

To be successful as a Global Technical Support Engineer you will have:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Have 5+ years of experience in TRS engineering

  • Have experience in 3D modeling of oilfield equipment using SolidWorks, AutoCad, Creo , etc.

  • Displays initiative, is self-driven & flexible

  • Have experience in Hydraulic design and troubleshooting

  • Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Have ability to develop and mentor others

  • Availability on call outside of normal business hours

  • Have ability to travel - domestic and internationally

Desired Characteristics

  • TRS operational experience

  • Experience in air/electric controlled mobile hydraulics

  • Ability to learn and use various computer tools to prepare data and visualizations for analysis

  • Ability to work independently
