Job description

Job Title: Test Technician

Location: Mojave, CA

Compensation: $40/hour, daily per diem available for those traveling in for days worked 

Employment Type: 6 month contract, likelihood for full-time conversion

Schedule: 5am -2pm, Monday - Friday

Requirements:

  • Experience working with high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic plumbing, tubing, hoses, and fittings (AN, ORB, or similar).
  • Ability to bend and install hydraulic tubing and replace fittings and hoses.
  • Experience performing pressure testing, leak detection, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with torque wrenches, drills, saws, crimpers, impacts, and other mechanical hand and power tools.
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, or hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience supporting industrial equipment, test stands, manufacturing equipment, or mechanical systems.
  • Comfortable working at heights and operating boom lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Fall protection and confined space training are a plus.
  • Welding, fabrication, instrumentation, wire harness, and soldering experience are preferred.
  • Aerospace, ground support equipment (GSE), heavy industrial, oil & gas, or construction equipment experience is highly desirable.

Day to Day:

  • Assemble, maintain, and upgrade hydraulic and pneumatic systems on mechanical test stands.
  • Install, bend, and route hydraulic tubing, hoses, and fittings for high-pressure systems (up to 3,000 PSI).
  • Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and routine maintenance on hydraulic systems.
  • Prepare test stands for vehicle installation and testing, including mechanical setup and securing hardware.
  • Install and torque mechanical components using hand and power tools.
  • Replace hydraulic hoses, tubing, fittings, and related components as needed.
  • Support instrumentation installation, including wire harnesses, crimping, soldering, and actuator integration.
  • Assist with fabrication activities including weld preparation and light welding support.
  • Operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, and material handling equipment to support test operations.
  • Support testing activities by monitoring equipment, responding to mechanical issues, and maintaining test stand readiness.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including fall protection and confined space requirements.
