Job description

Position Summary
We are searching for an experienced Tube Laser Operator to support precision fabrication operations at our clients, Wellford, SC service center. This position plays a critical role in producing high-quality tubular components used across a variety of customer applications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating CNC tube laser equipment in a fabrication or metal service center environment and is comfortable working independently once trained. Operators who understand tube profiles, material behavior, and quality requirements — not just machine operation — tend to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC tube laser cutting machines to process round, square, and rectangular tubing
  • Load programs, verify setups, and monitor production to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Load and unload raw material and finished parts using forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Monitor cut quality, tolerances, and part consistency throughout production runs
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and daily start-up/shut-down procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous machining experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience producing high-mix or precision tube components is strongly preferred.
  • Hands on experience operating CNC tube laser equipment in a fabrication or metal service center environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Forklift and crane experience a plus
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, measuring tape, etc.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbal and written
  • Comfortable working independently once trained.
  • Safety glasses, hand protection, safety toe shoes are required
  • Physical ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours walking, standing, bending, reaching, pulling, and lifting
Employment Type & Compensation
  • This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
  • Pay rate is $25.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Application Window: Open until filled
Work Schedule
  • 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday | 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • Occasional 5-hours overtime on Friday
