Job description

PLANNER/DISPATCHER
The Planner/Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient pickup and delivery of products for customers in the NJ/NYC metro area, the planning for release of shipments to interstate drivers and consistent communication with drivers and warehouse personnel on execution of dispatch plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Manages local driver and equipment fleet for local pickup and delivery scheduling including labor, equipment and fulfillment of customer and job site location requirements.

·       Dispatches TTI trucks and schedules the order of loading for warehouse personnel in order to meet customer demands in the most efficient method possible.

·       Coordinates route schedules with drivers throughout the day and trouble shoots any dispatch plan changes with driver and customer service representative.

·       Manages review of all inbound and outbound bills of lading and inventory for requirements and ensures timely submission of transportation documents and work performed to CSR.

·       Responsible for working with General Manager on driver training, hiring and development

·       Responsible for working with second shift warehouse loading to ensure coordination of load plan with dispatched route

·       Monitors drivers logs, timesheets, vehicle inspections and coordinates all required vehicle maintenance

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·       Minimum of five years prior experience as planner/dispatcher with exceptional knowledge of NYC metro area, knowledge of DOT regulations is a must

·       Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills

·       Proficient in Microsoft Outlook , Excel and data entry skills

·       Ability to work additional hours on occasion from standard hours M-F 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

·       Background, driving and drug screen checks are required
