What are TSNs?

TSN stands for Time-Sensitive Networking, which refers to a set of standards developed by the IEEE to provide deterministic and reliable data transmission over Ethernet networks. TSNs are crucial in applications where low latency and high reliability are required, such as industrial automation, automotive, and professional audio/video systems. Professionals working with TSN are responsible for implementing these protocols and ensuring network performance meets strict timing requirements. Their work helps enable mission-critical applications that depend on synchronized and predictable communication.

What are some common challenges a Technical Support Network (TSN) professional faces when troubleshooting network issues?

As a TSN professional, you may frequently encounter challenges such as identifying the root cause of intermittent connectivity problems, managing multiple support tickets simultaneously, and keeping up with rapidly evolving network technologies. Troubleshooting often requires a methodical approach, strong communication with both technical and non-technical team members, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Additionally, collaborating with other IT specialists and documenting solutions for future reference are essential aspects of the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you need strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow rigorous security protocols, typically supported by a high school diploma and successful completion of TSA training. Familiarity with security screening equipment such as X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a calm, professional demeanor under pressure are standout soft skills in this role. These skills are crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of airport security operations while maintaining a positive experience for travelers.

About the Job:

Join us in shaping the future of Ethernet communications.  As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading Keysight’s global business development strategy to expand our market presence and grow revenue through a broad portfolio of hardware and software solutions for the rapidly evolving Ethernet TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) and time synchronization market.

This role is pivotal to our Americas expansion strategy — blending market development, strategic partnerships, and deep industry insight to position our company as a trusted partner for TSN and network synchronization.

About the Team:

You’ll collaborate closely with a diverse team of internal experts (Strategic Planning, R&D, Marketing, Project Management, Sales) and build meaningful, trust-based relationships with global customers and industry partners. Leveraging market expertise and strengths in customer engagement, the Business Development Manager will act as a hunter, responsible for aggressively growing business in the TSN ecosystem by penetrating existing accounts, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and acquiring new accounts. This role requires strong application awareness and the ability to connect the dots between customer needs in ethernet communication  and our diverse portfolio of design, test, and measurement solutions. Your focus will be driving business growth to meet the KPIs of Keysight’s Network Test Organization.

Responsibilities
  • Opportunity Hunting: Aggressively seek out new business opportunities within new and existing customer accounts by asking questions on adjacent applications, uncovering unmet or emerging needs, and aligning them with TSN and timing portfolio.
  • Order Progression & Reporting: Coordinate order processing and own reporting on closed and pending orders to ensure operational efficiency and provide management with clear visibility into business growth and upcoming opportunities.
  • Pre-Sales Strategy: Provide strategic insights and solution alignment to support pre-sales engagements and customer success.
  • Sales Enablement: Co-develop sales tools, resources, and enablement strategies to expand global reach and enhance Keysight’s market impact
  • Sales Team Collaboration: Partner with account managers during customer engagements by providing expertise on the TSN and timing and articulating plausible customer use cases.
  • Sales Funnel Management: Oversee pipeline development, channel strategy, and conversion tracking.
  • New Account Acquisition: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new customer accounts across the TSN ecosystem.
  • Account Strategy: Develop and execute key account plans, acting as the primary point of contact to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Customer Engagement: Manage customer inquiries, requests, and feedback to ensure satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Relationship Development: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, solution partners, and internal cross-functional teams to support strategy and long-term growth.
  • Customer Insight: Capture and communicate customer-driven insights from TSN and timing engagements to help inform strategic planning, solution development, and portfolio direction.
  • Domain Fluency: Maintain broad knowledge across TSN technologies and time synchronization technologies.   High-level knowledge and awareness of key IEEE 1588 and IEEE 802.1 standards.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is strongly preferred (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering).  MBA or equivalent business qualification is a strong plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years in business development, sales, strategic account management or solutions/applications engineering.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with networks synchronization and TSN.
  • Sales Expertise: Proven success in identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Strong relationship-building skills across cultures and disciplines.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience in account planning, pipeline management, and aligning business development with company goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to convey technical solutions clearly.
  • Collaboration: Effective cross-functional team player.
  • Market Insight: Ability to translate customer feedback into strategic direction.
