Role and Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end closing tasks including journal entries and other supportive financial analysis.
  • Assume responsibility over reconciliations of balance sheet accounts ensuring completeness and accuracy of accounts.
  • Assist with the reconciliations that help ensure the completeness and accuracy of our billable hours invoiced to client accepted hours.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Board and Management reports.
  • Review and reconcile AR and AP agings to General Ledger monthly.
  • Review and understand processes, identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with system implementations and software upgrades.
  • Assist with the semi-annual financial audit and preparation of requested information..
  • Learn, understand and manage GL coding setup in Ceridian payroll platform.
  • Assist in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures/conformance with GAAP.
  • May be given additional projects as assigned by Management i.e. Reports

Qualifications and Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast paced, high pressure and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with all levels of clients and employees.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Must be able to work some overtime during evenings and some weekends.
  • Proficiency with computer software, particularly Office products.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot Tables.
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience within a large ERP Accounting software (Great Plains)
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
  • Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) a plus.
