Salary Placement and Work Hours: This is a 12-month, full-time position. Placement will be on the E3 Salary Schedule with a range of $41,349 - $65,218, dependent on verifiable and applicable work experience and education. Hours worked will be a minimum of 40 per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions: The primary functions of the Learning Resources Center Secretary are to provide secretarial support and administrative assistance to the Head Librarian, other librarians, and the Learning Resources Center (LRC) and to comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College. The immediate supervisor for this position is the Head Librarian.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate use of the LRC by students, employees, and the community by performing general duties such as (but not limited to) the following: answering the telephone, assisting patrons in locating materials, and working the circulation desk
  • Provide general secretarial support to the Head Librarian and other librarians
  • Provide interlibrary loan services for students, employees, and Library Management Network
  • Prepare required reports, correspondence, and other written and electronic materials
  • Assist with inventory and shelve books
  • Process mail
  • Prepare and maintain records of correspondence
  • Assist with equipment inventory and circulation
  • Assist in maintaining LRC technology
  • Assist in technical processing of new books and materials
  • Assist in equipment distribution and recordkeeping

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control.
