Position Summary
The Senior-Level Lead Tester is responsible for leading quality assurance activities across multiple enterprise platforms including the Appian, the Drupal, and the Apache Kafka, as well as other related FLAG technologies. This role works closely with the Federal Project Manager and Product Owner to ensure that all functional, technical, and regulatory requirements are thoroughly tested, validated, and documented. A strong focus is placed on compliance with accessibility and federal standards, particularly Section 508 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end testing efforts across multiple enterprise systems and integrations.
  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Federal Project Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, SMEs, system owners, and end users to validate requirements and ensure solution quality.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Verify that all deliverables comply with Section 508 accessibility standards as required by DOL and OCIO guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to testing teams and ensure adherence to defined QA processes and standards.
  • Document defects, track resolution, and validate fixes across development cycles.
  • Ensure testing artifacts and supporting documentation meet audit and compliance expectations.
  • Support release readiness activities and provide go/no-go recommendations based on quality metrics.
Compliance & Process Requirements
  • Ensure contractor QA processes align with or exceed the maturity level of the DHS Trusted Tester methodology under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security guidelines.
  • Ensure personnel possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to validate ICT compliance with Revised Section 508 Standards (36 CFR Part 1194, Appendices A and C).
  • Provide Section 508-compliant testing artifacts and documentation upon request.
  • Maintain strong adherence to accessibility testing practices and ensure all digital products meet federal accessibility requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in QA/testing roles, including senior or lead-level responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (manual and automated).
  • Experience testing enterprise platforms, APIs, and integrated systems.
  • Hands-on experience with accessibility testing and Section 508 compliance validation.
  • Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams in a federal or regulated environment.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with federal government projects or large-scale public sector systems.
  • Familiarity with Appian-based workflows, Drupal CMS implementations, and Kafka-based event streaming architectures.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
