Job description

Dakota Storage Buildings is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Truss Manufacturing Technician to join our team. This position is essential in producing high-quality trusses for our storage buildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading and fulfilling manufacturing orders (MOs), sorting and selecting quality lumber, cutting and notching truss components, and assembling trusses using a press.

When truss production is caught up, the individual may be assigned to other tasks within the production line to support overall manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and Fulfill Manufacturing Orders (MOs): Follow work orders to ensure accuracy in truss production.
  • Lumber Sorting: Select straight and untwisted lumber to maintain quality and structural integrity.
  • Saw Operation & Cutting: Set up, adjust, and operate saws to cut truss pieces to required dimensions.
  • Notching Truss Pieces: Accurately notch truss components for precise assembly.
  • Truss Assembly: Use a truss press to securely assemble trusses per specifications.
  • Efficiency & Performance: Work efficiently to meet or exceed production targets and qualify for performance bonuses.
  • Assist in Other Production Areas: Help with additional manufacturing tasks when truss production is caught up.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials and finished trusses for accuracy and durability.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and perform routine equipment maintenance.
