Job description

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Bell Person is to Work the bell podium by writing tickets for baggage, help with luggage and appropriately place guest luggage in the suite. Taking tickets for baggage and any items left by the guest and answering guests questions. Handle guest luggage from the point of arrival at hotel to their assigned room and departure of the hotel as well as anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Smile and greet, warmly interact with, and assist guests and hotel staff in a professional manner

  • Maintain a positive attitude and outgoing personality, demeanor and professional appearance

  • Provide a high level of guest service to all guests and co-workers which are aligned and guided by the Company's and Property’s core service standards and brand attributes in order to provide defining moments at every opportunity

  • Collect, transport, deliver, and store luggage and guest items

  • Assist with group deliveries, group baggage, and various amenities

  • Orient guests to guest room and property

  • Complete applicable documentation, tickets, and other bell related forms

  • Make and receive phone calls requesting information, services and deliveries

  • Knowledgeable of handheld mobile application devices

  • Communicate with guests, staff, and Tour Escorts regarding operations.

  • Prepare room lists for arriving and departing groups.

  • Retrieve and operate bell cart.

  • Escort guests and carry or transport luggage to and from the rooms.

  • Resolve customer complaints or disputes as necessary.

  • Make airline, show and tour reservations for guests.

  • Arrange for guest car rentals and delivery.

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in bell stand and luggage area.

  • Work with Security to report suspicious or dangerous/unclaimed luggage.

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High School diploma or equivalent


Experience

  • 1 year of experience in customer service or similar role.

  • Driver License and DMV Print-out.

  • Clean driving record.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, push up to 100 lbs.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

  • Physical ability to access all areas of the property.

  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without accommodations.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management and co-associates.


Knowledge/Skills

  • Must have general knowledge of basic customer service skills and be fluent in oral and written English.

  • Must have knowledge of local establishments, businesses and the surrounding community in general.

  • Must be able to drive automatic and manual vehicles.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
