Job description

Distribution Center Supervisor (Floater)

Location: Coppell, TX 75019
Pay Rate: $29.00/hour
Schedule: MondayFriday; occasional Saturdays for overtime. Must be flexible to cover 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends, and other shifts as needed to support 24/7 operations.
Shifts: 2nd Shift 1:45 PM10:15 PM / 3rd Shift 9:45 PM6:15 AM

Position Summary

The Distribution Center Supervisor (Floater) oversees daily distribution center operations to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely handling of inventory and completion of assignments. This position leads and coaches associates, monitors quality and safety standards, manages inbound and outbound operations, and supports operational continuity across shifts. The Supervisor also serves as a key liaison between associates and management and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delegate, assign, and monitor daily assignments to ensure timely completion.

  • Lead and coach associates with a strong focus on quality, productivity, and safety.

  • Manage inbound and outbound inventory, receiving, customer returns (RMAs), and order fulfillment.

  • Ensure inventory is properly identified, accurately located, and maintained in the WMS.

  • Verify orders are allocated, released, pulled, certified, and loaded correctly.

  • Inspect trailers for safety and sanitation and address unsafe conditions or equipment.

  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and communicate company policies, expectations, and operational updates.

  • Ensure associates maintain current training, certifications, evaluations, and equipment checklists.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and files for assigned areas and associates.

  • Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards.

  • Conduct interviews and forklift driving tests for prospective hires.

  • Support staffing and operational needs across day, night, and weekend shifts.

  • Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure all company safety procedures are followed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Forklift certification and experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

  • Minimum 6 months of forklift operating experience.

  • 2 years of warehouse lead or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience with inventory management and warehouse operations.

  • Ability to perform basic math and accurately complete documentation.

  • Ability to lift and maneuver cases weighing 50+ lbs. continuously.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and lead by example, particularly regarding safety.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
