Job description

Job Responsibilities The Truck Driver instructor will work with minimal instruction/supervision within the guidelines established by the Program Coordinator. The duties will include providing theory, range, and driving instruction to students, inspecting and maintaining school vehicles and equipment, maintaining student training records, and ensuring students adhere to Trident Technical College's CDL safety. Minimum and Additional Requirements This position requires an Associate degree in Transportation Management or Business Technology or a closely related field plus a minimum of three (3) years truck driving experience or a high school diploma and five (5) years of proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience to include training and assisting students in developing the skills necessary to obtain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications All applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; hold a valid South Carolina Commercial Driver's License with all necessary endorsements for the motor vehicle equipment being operated. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual change in information technology. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, off-site curriculum, and continuing education courses.

Must have the ability to lift 100 pounds, carry 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crawl, continuously walk, and stand.
