Job description


JOB SUMMARY
Pulls serviced refrigeration equipment to ready area to provide room at pre-trip lines. Stages gen-set chassis in the port and pulls decked out boxes from the port to the pre-trip lines. Keeps reefer yard open for additional arriving reefers to service. Operates reach stacker and heavy lift fork-lifts to mount and dismount containers. Moves damaged containers to shop for repair. Fuels and check fluids of the Tropical equipment. Identifies defects of Tropical equipment and reports back to supervisor. 
JOB SCOPE
No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates jockey truck, fuel truck, fork-lifts, and reach stacker as necessary to supply reefer yard with equipment.
Transports ready, needing pre-trip and damaged equipment in and out of reefer yard.
Updates computer system of incoming/outgoing equipment.
Notifies supervisor of unusual and/or excessive damages or issues/potential problems.
Performs daily maintenance check on jockey truck, fuel truck, fork-lift and reach stacker.
Maintains clear, effective communication using radio.
Fuels equipment as needed and documents usage.
Checks and maintains fluids of jockey truck, fuel truck and/or assigned equipment.
Reports discrepancies and excessive usage of fuel, coolant, or lubricants.
Maintains cleanliness and functionality of fuel truck.
Maintains cleanliness of reefer shop and surroundings.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Two years in trucking or shipping operations experience. Experience in operating tractor trailers and heavy machinery. One year CDL experience operating equipment and fueling equipment.
LICENSE: Valid Class A CDL with ability to obtain Tanker & HAZMAT endorsement. Must pass DOT physical. Fork-lift certification.
