Job description

Summary/Objective
The Porter Detailer will direct the flow of traffic on our dealership’s parking lots, assist service customers with checking in vehicle and provide general lot supervision throughout the normal course of business.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Manages the flow of traffic for the dealership lots and the general service area.

  2. Drives customer cars to designated parking spots in our service area lot.

  3. Performs general clean-up of vehicles after service.

  4. Delivers vehicles to service area upon customer pick-up.

  5. Maintains lot order, even in designated customer parking areas.

  6. Assists with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed.

  7. Keeps vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed and in accordance with dealership display standard. 

  8. Assist with other general service needs as directed by supervisor and/or Service Management.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Able to anticipate and understand customer’s needs and provide viable solutions.

  2. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication expertise.

  3. Strong organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills

  4. Able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

  5. A Valid Driver’s License.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. May be exposed to outdoor conditions and inclement weather.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift/carry at least 50 lbs.

POSITION TYPE:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Standard days and hours of work are
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work 8 hours a day and will be given a regular day off.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred - additional on the job training usually necessary.

  2. One year of automotive experience preferred.
