Job Description Summary
The TRiO Program Assistant provides administrative, student-facing, and operational support for TRiO Student Support Services and the Jordan Center. The position serves as a welcoming first point of contact for applicants, TRiO Scholars, and visitors while supporting daily Center operations, student check-ins, lab usage, program activities, and general administrative needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in administrative support, customer service, student services, education, or a related setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
  • Proficiency with common office technology and the ability to learn student information and program management systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, manage multiple responsibilities, work independently, and protect confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience working with low-income, first-generation college students and/or students with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with computer-assisted instructional technologies.
Essential Duties
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the Jordan Center, providing students and visitors with general information about TRiO services, activities, eligibility requirements, and application procedures.
  • Assist prospective students with navigating the TRiO application, intake, and orientation process and refer eligibility determinations or complex questions to appropriate TRiO staff.
  • Assist TRiO Scholars with locating resources, scheduling appointments, connecting with staff, and accessing appropriate college services.
  • Monitor daily Jordan Center and computer lab operations, including student-use spaces, basic technology and printing needs, and appropriate use of program resources.
  • Manage student check-ins and document Jordan Center visits, lab usage, and routine student contacts in Blumen or other approved systems.
  • Maintain the TRiO event calendar; manage registrations, sign-ups, attendance, and participation records for workshops, activities, college visits, and other program events.
  • Assist with TRiO orientations, recruitment activities, workshops, special events, and student engagement initiatives, including event setup and participant check-in.
  • Monitor office, lab, event, and student supply inventory; maintain organized program materials and notify the Director when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Provide routine administrative support, including answering phones, monitoring program email as assigned, scheduling appointments, filing, scanning, copying, and organizing materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and perform duties in accordance with college policies, FERPA requirements, TRiO grant regulations, and other duties as assigned.
