About Us
Dunn Contractors is a commercial general contractor serving Anchorage and surrounding areas since 2003. We specialize in commercial tenant improvements, major structural repairs, carpentry, and general construction.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Trim Carpenter for commercial projects in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.
This position requires a detail-oriented craftsman capable of performing high-quality finish carpentry and decking installation. Immediate work includes installation of approximately 1,500 square feet of hardwood decking in Big Lake, Alaska, with the opportunity to continue additional commercial projects in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. 
Pay ranges from $30–$45 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Finish Carpentry
    • Install trim, baseboards, casing, crown molding, and other finish materials.
    • Hang doors, install hardware, and complete finish carpentry details.
    • Install cabinetry, millwork, and architectural finishes.
  •  Decking Installation
    • Install hardwood decking systems according to plans and manufacturer specifications.
    • Ensure proper spacing, fastening, and finishing of decking materials.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors and other trades to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Site Maintenance: Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for yourself and other on-site workers.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate time sheets, daily logs, and project records. Upload site photos and document progress regularly using construction software. Report regularly to the project management team.
Qualifications
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of carpentry experience in commercial construction.
  • Demonstrated experience with finish carpentry or trim installation.
  • Experience with hanging doors, installing windows, cabinetry, and trim work.
  • Experience installing hardwood decking systems for commercial or residential projects.
Skills:
  • Strong skills in drywall (patching, taping, texturing), and general woodworking techniques.
  • Extensive painting experience - including surface preparation, priming, rolling, brushing, and spraying for both commercial interiors and exteriors.
  • Proficient in masking, taping, and cleanup techniques to achieve a clean, professional finish.
  • Strong focus on quality and accuracy, ensuring all work meets company standards.
  • Ability to think critically and resolve on-site issues effectively.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Travel:
  • Ability to travel as needed between project sites, various vendors, and other relevant locations. This includes but is not limited to Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla, and Big Lake. 
Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Cell phone is required for documentation, communication, and access to maps for traveling.
  • 18 years or older.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 lbs.
  • Stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching are required.
  • Be exposed to various inside and outside working and weather conditions.
  • PPE will be provided as needed.
