Job description

Dupont Schedule: Rotating (days/nights) 12hr shifts with some weekends.

Position Description: The primary purpose of the position is to troubleshoot and resolve machinery and equipment issues on a reactive basis as well as prevent those issues on a proactive basis through preventive maintenance.  The position will provide the highest level of customer service to operations while prioritizing their time to the issues with the highest impact to the overall business.

Industrial Maintenance Tech Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot machine and equipment problems and resolve them to the best of your current ability.  Reach out to peer Technicians and Maintenance Manager for issues where further expertise is needed
  • Perform all work in a high quality and safe manner ensuring that all OSHA, NEC, Trident or other standards are followed.
  • Train and develop peers on skillsets where there are differences in expertise levels.
  • Perform work based on the expected skillsets below, and strive to elevate skillsets and knowledge base with every problem or issue:

Key Competencies:

  • Performing all job functions in a safe manner, follow and enforce all TRIDENT policies and procedures.
  • Leading housekeeping efforts and always maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Identifying and immediately communicating personnel and safety issues to the Maintenance Manager and assisting with investigations and resolutions of the issues if needed.
  • Communicating and working with Shift Supervisors to ensure proper prioritization of issues. 
  • Accurate and complete reporting of maintenance, production, and quality data both manually and in computer systems.
  • Reporting any continuous improvement opportunities to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Moving materials as needed using forklifts or overhead cranes.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Possesses excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses excellent understanding of stake flag machine operation via prior Operator experience.
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts, and report on time for scheduled shifts and follow company attendance policies.
  • Possesses strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Possesses basic knowledge in math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Possesses basic computer skills.
  • Understands production rates and production schedules.
  • Ability to balance and achieve results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction
  • Must have the ability to complete two or more tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a working and up-to-date knowledge of products and services.
  • Must be able to handle self in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to take responsibility for self and team.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to continually bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulder, use arms, wrists, grasp and squeeze with hands, access constricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to dusty or dirty ambient conditions.
  • Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to hot or cold ambient conditions.
  • Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to mild chemical irritants.
  • Excellent forklift skills with the ability to safely move pallets of material into storage racks.
  • Ability to use an overhead crane to safely move products and machine parts with no damage.

Training:

  • Training would be a mixture of online training on safety, maintenance, and production procedures along with on-the-job training conducted by an experienced Maintenance Technician.
