Job description

Description:

About the Role

Trico is adding an Inside Sales Specialist to support customer engagement and sales growth. This role starts with a strong focus on customer follow-up, quote management, and recurring product support, and expands over time into more consultative, solution-based selling.

This is a great fit for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and consistent in their follow-through, and who is curious and motivated to build deeper technical and sales expertise over time.

The day-to-day work includes a steady rhythm of customer follow-up and communication, requiring consistency and attention to detail.

What Youโ€™ll Do

You will start by building a strong foundation in customer follow-up, quote management, and recurring product support:

  • Follow up on open quotes to move opportunities forward
  • Proactively reach out to customers to maintain and grow relationships
  • Ensure timely and consistent communication with customers
  • Identify immediate customer needs and coordinate appropriate responses
  • Accurately and consistently document all customer interactions and updates in Microsoft Dynamics

As you build product knowledge and confidence, you will take on more responsibility in developing customer relationships and identifying opportunities:

  • Identify and pursue additional opportunities within existing accounts
  • Ask deeper questions to better understand customer equipment and challenges
  • Contribute to solution development with support from internal experts
  • Progress toward a more consultative, solution-based sales approach

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent, high-quality follow-up with customers and prospects
  • Manage and prioritize open quotes and customer touchpoints to ensure timely progression
  • Analyze customer activity and identify opportunities for additional engagement
  • Support proposal development and customer communication
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, lab, customer service) to address customer needs
  • Take ownership of customer interactions and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing, sales support, or inside sales role, ideally in industrial products, distribution, or a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude or interest in how equipment works
  • Strong follow-up skills and a high level of personal accountability
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple open items simultaneously
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to learn technical concepts over time
  • Confidence communicating with customers over the phone and email
  • Comfort using CRM systems and learning new tools

Compensation Philosophy

This role is structured as a competitive salary-based position to support a team-oriented, customer-first approach. The focus is on building long-term customer relationships and delivering the right solutionsโ€”not transactional selling.

Our Team Approach

We operate in self-managing teams with a high level of ownership and accountability. Team members are expected to follow through, support each other, and continuously improve how we work.

We Offer

We offer a competitive total rewards package designed to support your well-being and growth, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development
