Job description

Manages the planning and coordination of all facility functions including Machine/mill maintenance, grounds, heating, cooling, ventilation, cleaning, and building construction. Supervises and coordinates activities in order to meet the quality and quantity standards set by TSS. Coordinates with internal and external customers on facility status, proposed disruptions and concerns. 

    • Initiates, implements and manages the plant maintenance program with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventative/predictive maintenance.
    • Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
    • Communicates regularly with all Facilities staff, both individually and as a group. Ensures good two-way communication about facilities issues.
    • Reviews plant equipment and system operations in order to minimize unplanned downtime.
    • Anticipates and solve problems in a timely manner.
    • Initiates and implements projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
    • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance costs, and Preventative Maintenance compliance.
    • Ensures that applicable city, county, state and federal maintenance regulations are met.
    • Communicates directly with the Operations Department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
    • Manages and executes construction projects, including working with outside vendors.
    • Coordinates contracted maintenance services (e.g., janitorial, building and grounds), and training needs.
    • Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment. Initiates reordering when necessary.
    • Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
    • Supervises and assists in hiring of Facility personnel.
    • Calibrates equipment and instruments.
    • Provides 24-hour, on-call service for emergency maintenance, with a half-hour response time to the site.
    • Revises updates and completes all facilities related documentation, including drawings, charts, spreadsheets, work order tracking and SOPs.
    • Manages the installation, moves, repairs and removal of office equipment and furniture in coordination with the IT department.
    • 4 year degree in a relevant field
    • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, preferably in the plastics/molding/sealing industry or other regulated field
    • 2+ years of supervisory experience
